Accelerate database changes, reduce failures, and enforce governance across your pipelines.

Germany's enterprise IT organizations, from DAX-listed manufacturers to highly regulated banks, insurers, and pharmaceutical companies, are under the same pressure driving digital transformation everywhere: deliver software and AI-powered products faster, without sacrificing the compliance and audit standards regulators demand. Application code, infrastructure, and security have largely modernized around DevSecOps and CI/CD. But database change, the last mile of every release, still lags behind, managed through manual scripts, spreadsheets, and tribal knowledge. As AI-assisted development accelerates the pace of change across the stack, that gap becomes a liability few organizations can afford.
That's why we're excited to announce a new partnership between Liquibase and knowmad mood Germany (formerly ASERVO Software) to bring governed, automated database change management to enterprises across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, BeNeLux, and the Nordics - with a particular focus on the German market, where knowmad mood has spent more than two decades helping some of the country's most complex, highly regulated organizations modernize their software development infrastructure.
Why This Matters for the German Market
Germany’s largest enterprises and the automotive, financial services, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor companies that anchor its economy operate under some of the toughest regulatory and audit requirements anywhere. As these organizations modernize CI/CD pipelines and adopt AI-assisted development, they need the same governance, auditability, and policy enforcement at the database layer that they've already built into application code. Liquibase Secure provides exactly that: a governance control plane with policy checks, drift detection, and structured audit trails across 65+ database platforms, from mainframe to cloud.
For more than 20 years, knowmad mood Germany has been a trusted advisor to more than 150 enterprise clients navigating software development infrastructure with consulting, migration, training, and long-term operational support across the full CI/CD and DevOps lifecycle. As part of the broader knowmad mood group and its global network of 1,500+ technical experts across 10 solution domains, the team brings deep expertise in helping highly regulated industries modernize and optimize their development infrastructure.
“Our customers are under constant pressure to modernize faster while keeping pace with AI-driven development and database change has been the missing piece of that puzzle. Liquibase gives us a proven way to bring the same governance and automation our customers already expect from their CI/CD and DevOps investments down to the database layer. We're excited to add this to how we support operational excellence for our customers across Germany, Austria, Switzerland (DACH) as well at the BeNeLux countries and the Nordics.” — Rainer Heinold, CEO, knowmad mood Germany
Governance Is the Story
Our 2026 State of Database Change Governance Report quantified the gap: 96.5% of organizations report AI interacting with production databases, 68.1% deploy database changes weekly or faster, yet only 28.1% report standardized, consistently enforced governance. AI has already crossed the database boundary; the question is whether you can still prove control when it does.
Liquibase Secure answers that question with a governance control plane: policy checks enforced on every change, drift detection, and structured, audit-ready evidence across 65+ database platforms, from mainframe to cloud. In June, Liquibase Secure 5.2 introduced Agent Safe Governance, extending validation, tracking, and enforcement to every change whether written by humans or AI. For German enterprises, this means audits become report generation instead of reconstruction, and governance stops being the tax on delivery speed.
A Foundation for Broader European Growth
While Germany anchors this partnership, the first phase of alignment will extend across DACH and Northern Europe, markets where the same forces are at play: complex, regulated enterprises balancing modernization with governance. The plan is then to extend the partnership across all of EMEA with the broader knowmad mood group in Southern Europe, UKI, and other markets.
“knowmad mood Germany has spent two decades earning the trust of some of the most demanding, highly regulated enterprises in Europe. That's exactly the kind of partner we want representing Liquibase as we expand our presence across the DACH region, BeNeLux, and the Nordics. Together, we can help these organizations bring the same discipline and confidence to database change that they've already built into the rest of their software delivery pipeline.” — Mike Runco, VP of Sales, Liquibase
The Opportunity Ahead
As AI adoption accelerates across German and broader European enterprise IT, organizations that build deliberate, governed database change practices now will have a real advantage over those that don't. This partnership gives knowmad mood's customers a direct path to that governance, and gives Liquibase a trusted, experienced partner deeply embedded in one of Europe's most important markets.
We invite you to attend our upcoming webinar on 16 September – See Every Database Change Across Your Enterprise – which will preview the new Liquibase 6.0 Release including Change Intelligence and a platform for Enterprise Database Change Governance.
